TEM Training

by johnh last modified 2009-11-05 17:17

(1) Before embarking on TEM training, we ask that each new operator gain an understanding of the fundamentals of TEM operation by browsing through The Transmission Electron Microscope - Chapter 6 in Electron Microscopy by JJ Bozzola and LD Russell (this chapter can also be accessed through the library via the ebook version, or come to the MIC administration office for a hard copy);

(2) Complete a TEM theory questionaire from the MIC staff;

(3) Contact the MIC staff for hands-on training until checked out.

As with the SEM, experienced TEM operators do not need to go through a theory check-up in (1) and (2), and can proceed with the appropriate hands-on training in (3).
