E. coli MG1655 spotted onto CF400-Cu grid and stained with 0.75% uranyl formate imaged on the JEOL 1200 TEM at approximately 15,000X. E. coli is peritrichous, meaning it has multiple flagella distributed across its cell body which are visible as the thin, long structures protuding from the cell.
